In a very significant step for the tourism industry of Mexico, the Secretariat of Tourism (SECTUR) has announced that Tijuana, Baja California, will be the venue of the 49th edition of Tianguis Turístico México 2025.

This decision was made unanimously in an open vote, after a contest was launched on September 29, 2023 where private tourism organizations, members of the selection committee, and a certified panel participated actively to determine the ideal location of this important event.

The city of Tijuana was selected for several strategic reasons. Among them there are its excellent flight connectivity and the chance that it brings to establish a new attendance record from tour operators, especially from California and other US states and Canada. These two countries represent the first and second international tourism market in Mexico, respectively.

The head of SECTUR underscored that choosing Tijuana as a venue will contribute to the growth of tourism in the region, while taking advantage of the presence of visitors from the United States and Canada.

In the first 11 months of 2023, Mexico welcomed more than 12 million American tourists, a 3.3% increase when compared to the same period last year, and more than 2 million Canadian tourists, a 45.3% increase. Without a doubt, this will be a great opportunity to showcase the treasures of Tijuana in 2025!
