The Secretary of Economy and Innovation, Kurt Honold Morales, announced the "Baja Innovation Day" event which will take place at Hotel Real Inn Tijuana on November 8. Its goal is to provide businesses and the education sector, the breaking tools in order to integrate technology to create high quality jobs while also increasing the chances of investment in the state.

At 11 AM, the Investment Project Award Ceremony by Amazon Web Services will take place and these awards will be given to people who participated in this competition. Subsequently, Microsoft will give the talk, "Impact of Artificial Intelligence" at 12:15 PM.

Google Cloud will offer the following workshops: “Education Innovation with Google Cloud” by Lauro García from the Google Education Mexico team; “Digital Tools of Google Cloud for Entrepreneurs and MIPyMES,” by the person in charge of Google Digital Innovations and Partnerships in Mexico, Jahasiel Sevilla; and “Google Cloud Solutions for Institutions” by Esau Acevedo from the public sector team of Google Mexico at 12:00, 13:00, and 14:00 PM, respectively.

The workshop “Protect the intellectual property of your creations” will also be given by a specialist of the Mexican Institute of Intellectual Property (IMPI), Dr. Rubén de Regil at 15:00 PM.

For businesses and people interested in the startup format, there will be a talk called “Investment Ecosystem” by Adriana Tortajada from the company 1200 VC at 16:00 PM and there will be a panel called “Raising Capital” where Alejandro González, from Redwood VC; Ángel Bañuelos from Balero Ventures, and Renata Solana from Nido Ventures will participate. Attendants will have the opportunity to listen to relevant voices of the investment ecosystem.

People participating will also have the chance to speed network among technological companies and investment firms at 11 AM, and among Red CI Baja and the industry at 1:30 PM. There will also be a meeting called “Providers and entrepreneurs” by the Center of Competitiveness of Mexico (CCMX) at 3:30 PM.

During the event, from 11 AM to 6 PM, there will be an exhibition that will show off the products, designs, and innovative solutions by Centers of Innovation (Red CI Baja) and technological companies of Baja California.

These workshops will give participants of Baja Innovation Day the opportunity to explore and expand their knowledge regarding digital solutions for social entrepreneurship, intellectual property, investment ecosystems, and a panel on raising capital for startups.
