Marina del Pilar strengthens support for women in Baja California with "Tarjeta Violeta"

On Thursday, 1,900 "Violet Cards" were delivered in the state; this is an economic aid which has also been described as comprehensive framework for all Baja Californian women

Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, the governor of Baja California, delivered 1,900 "Tarjetas Violeta" (Violet Cards) to female citizens of Mexicali who are part of the 72,000 people who received this benefit at the beginning of this state administration. This was with the goal of continuing strategies to empower and benefit Baja Californian women.

In her speech to the beneficiaries and Baja Californian society, the state governor pointed out that the intention of her administration is that the Violet Card continues to be used to assist women in the seven municipalities of the state.

"You are not alone, you have a government and a governor that listen to you," Marina del Pilar said.

Governor Marina del Pilar recommended the staff of the Secretariat of Wellbeing that brings the aid directly to those who need it the most without middlemen, respecting the principles of the Fourth Transformation, to prioritize the life of all people, especially groups that have been historically forgotten.

She added that this is not just an economic aid of 2,600 bimonthly pesos but also a training, courses, and workshop framework which will allow them to be self-sufficient short term. This is joined by other state programs such as Violet Transportation and school breakfasts, which is why this is a comprehensive help for all women.

At this event the following people were present at the Mexicali Civic Center: federal congresswoman, Julieta Ramírez Padilla; the Secretary of Wellbeing, Netzahualcóyotl Jáuregui Santillán; state congressman, Juan Manuel Molina, and other beneficiaries of this program.
