Marina del Pilar provides care for female workers' children in San Quintin

The governor of Baja California reaffirmed her commitment with children and working mothers in the state

Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, the governor of Baja California, reaffirmed her commitment with the children of the state in front of workers in San Quintin while inaugurating the Center of Child Care (CAI) managed by the state DIF, which will provide for children of working mothers in the region.

Marina del Pilar emphasized the importance of thinking about the future by investing in the care and education of children nowadays. That's why, she underscored that "There is nothing more noble in this world than a child to whom we are giving all opportunities they deserve."

The project had a total cost above 27 million pesos, which were used in construction, operational costs, raw material acquisitions, maintenance, and improvements that have been gradually carried out.

"These walls, this space will be the home of your children, to give them a lot of love, a lot of warmth, and feed them while you work the fields of Baja California with your hands," she stated in front of the director of DIF Baja California, Nuria Fernández.

This space will offer care for 80 children from 43 days to 5 years and 11 months of age, and it will have a wide variety of services to take care of them, strengthening the actions that the administration has led in this important zone of the state.

For her part, Nuria Fernández emphasized the work that is being done in Baja California and the boost that the Fourth Transformation is giving to the humane care of children and teenagers in the country.

"Creating assistance centers for toddlers is amazing, and to do it for the children of farm workers makes all the difference," she said and emphasized the importance that children have a voice in society so they can influence their own future.

Meanwhile, the president of DIF Baja California, Mavis Olmeda García, and managing director Mónica Vargas highlighted that the new CAI will be a new option for any vulnerable working mother that requires care for their child. This will provide them with tranquility knowing that their child is in a safe and optimal space for their development while they work.

It is important to note that, according to data from INEGI, at least 50% of people working on agriculture fields are women, to whom the state governor reaffirmed her support and commitment with their families.

With this visit and commitment, Marina del Pilar and Nuria Fernandez reaffirmed their dedication to improve the lives of children and the working conditions of field workers in San Quintin while reiterating the importance of investing in the construction of a more prosperous future for Baja California.
