These streets will remain closed due to national holidays in Downtown Tijuana

The Municipal Administration is inviting people to be part of national festivities, telling them in advance which streets will be closed due to this holiday

The mayor of Tijuana, Montserrat Caballero Ramírez who leads the Municipal Administration of Tijuana, informed people which will be the streets that will remain closed starting on Wednesday, September 13 due to national holidays, which will celebrate the 213th anniversary of Mexican Independence. The streets that will be closed are Calle Artículo 123 (1st Street) and Calle Benito Juárez (2nd Street) at the level of Avenida Revolución.

This is in order to work out the details so that traditional Mexican Festivities can take place. It has also been revealed that Mayor Montserrat Caballero will lead the official Independence Scream ceremony at Arco del Reloj Monumental in Avenida Revolución on September 15 at 10 PM.

This same evening, Francisco Javier Barraza Rodríguez, better known as Pancho Barraza, and his band will delight Tijuana’s audience with his regional Mexican music.

In addition, Tijuana natives should know that since the early morning of Friday, September 15, Calle Coahuila will be closed all the way until the corner with Calle Hermenegildo Galeana (7th Street) on Avenida Revolución. This space will be used for Mexican food stands which will be part of the festivities that will take place due to these national holidays.

It should be noted that in Calle Ricardo Flores Magón (6th Street), the block comprising of Avenida Constitución and Avenida Revolución will be closed as mechanical games will be installed there.

People who frequently travel in these streets are encouraged to make preparations so as to avoid any setbacks. It is recommended to take Calle Hermenegildo Galeana (7th Street) as an alternate road if going upwards and Calle Miguel Hidalgo (8th Street) if going downwards.

In order to make these festivities safe and guarantee the wellbeing of attendants, preventive operations by agents of the Municipal Police will be set up.

In addition, Tijuana natives are invited to participate in these traditional festivities and enjoy them starting at 6 PM on Friday, September 15.

All the agencies of the Municipal Government will be working normally on Friday, September 15 in order to help people who require any paperwork from the Municipal Administration of Tijuana.
