Marina del Pilar registers historic number of open spaces in COBACH Tijuana

COBACH has become the first high school option for young people in Baja California, with the highest enrollment number registered in 42 years

Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, the governor of Baja California, highlighted the work that her administration has done to increase high-quality education spaces for minors in the state. She revealed that they have achieved a historic record at the Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado (COBACH) as they are teaching 15,825 new students.

This is, the governor said, part of educational authorities' commitment so that every young person has an education.

According to previous statistics, from 2010 to 2017, the enrollment average was around 12,000 students, with 2018 registering a drop to 10,578 students. This is why when the administration took office in November 2021, strategies were planned to increase the number of spaces offered, managing to enroll 13,700 new students in the 2022-2 semester and then a historic number of 15,825 students in the 2023-2 semester.

Juan Eugenio Carpio Ascencio, director of COBACH BC, said that this is a very important result by the administration led by Marina del Pilar, achieved by optimizing educational infrastructure, human resources, and finances.

"We are filled with pride that we have this support and commitment with young people from the governor that has consolidated COBACH BC as the first educational option in Baja California," the state official highlighted.

It should be noted that COBACH BC usually assists a total registry of more than 39,000 students daily in the entire state.
