Through the "Bye Bye Baches" program, alongside the JetPatcher team in the Otay Centenario Delegation, the Municipal Administration of Tijuana will carry out repair work at the Bulevar Garita de Otay and Bulevar Bellas Artes vehicular bridge. This is a response to citizens' demands which is why the Agency of Municipal Urban Projects and Infrastructure (DOIUM) will be working on the area in the next few days.
The director of DOIUM, Marco Antonio Campoy Arce, explained that to meet the municipal government's demands, the closure will be partial to affect the least possible amount of traffic at night.
He said that pothole repair will be carried out with DOIUM workers, who are part of the Secretariat of Territory, Urban, and Environmental Development (SDTUA) led by Enrique Bautista Corona, as well as work teams of the delegations. Together, they have all repaired 250,000 square meters of potholes in 9 territories.
By instructions of mayor Montserrat Caballero, services will be provided to the Tijuana natives who require it. This is why the pothole repair team will be placed at assigned spots with a partial closure on Tuesday, September 5 and Wednesday, September 6 at night, said the head of DOIUM, Marco Antonio Campoy Arce.
The official stated that work will be done with an asphaltic cold mix that allows work to be shorter, so that drivers can use the space almost immediately.
In addition, he said that they will work only on one lane. Once this lane is repaired, they will work on the other one. He also said that the JetPatcher machine will be handled by 3 people per unit. This will allow working time to be decreased so as to free the road once it is repaired, and that way, citizens can use the lanes with no problem.
