Three individuals who allegedly create violence were arrested in the municipality of Tecate in possession of several high impact weapons with several useful cartridges and a huge amount of drugs. This arrest was carried out by agents of the State Forces of Citizen Security (FESC) and agents of the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA).
This occurred in a nameless street in La Rumorosa, where security institutions were doing preventive and surveillance rounds to maintain order and social harmony. While doing rounds, they saw a blue 2009 Honda Civic, with license plates 8GAC574 from California, blocking the road.
When they approached the car to interview the passengers, officers of the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Baja California (SSCBC) noticed that the inside of the car had a strong marijuana smell. As such, they asked them to get out of the car so they could inspect it.
When the individuals were body searched, several drugs were found. These drugs were the following:
- 30 pink Ziploc-style plastic bags with a solid substance grainy to the touch similar to methamphetamine with an approximate weight of 88.6 grams.
- 5 bags with 30 wrappers with a solid substance grainy to the touch, similar to methamphetamine with an approximate weight of 88.8 grams.
- 6 bags with 30 wrappers with a solid substance grainy to the touch, similar to methamphetamine with an approximate weight of 104.4 grams.
- 15 transparent and closed plastic bags with a knot, with a white powder similar to cocaine with an approximate weight of 44.4 grams.
- 21 closed bags with a knot with marijuana, with an approximate weight of 117.5 grams.
In addition, when the inside of the vehicle was inspected, agents found a black and gray closed leather bag with the following objects:
- 3 magazines for 7.62x39 mm caliber rifles, each one with 17 unused cartridges, for a total of 51 useful cartridges of this same caliber.
- 1 magazine of plastic discs with a caliber of 7.62x39 mm supplied with 27 unused cartridges.
- 1 magazine of functional plastic discs with a caliber of .223 and 5.56 mm, with nothing.
Due to this discovery, 19-year-old Jael Missael “N”, from Mexicali, 24-year-old Juan Maximino “N”, from La Paz, Baja California Sur, and 34-year-old Martín Javier “N”, from Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua, were cuffed and their constitutional rights were read; they were then handed over to the Federal Attorney General's Office (FGR).
Work together between authorities of the three levels of government have allowed them to obtain important results. This is why we continue to coordinate constantly to fight violence in all of its forms, to bring peace and harmony to all Baja Californians. These actions demand a great effort and commitment because all of us are and make security; this is why, we won't stop fighting against those who threaten peace and social order.
