Movie premieres are gearing up and 2023 is full of amazing movies that will take us back to our childhoods. An example of this is the live action Barbie movie which will premiere in a few days and a talented Tijuana native artist has achieved the “unthinkable” by putting Margot Robbie, who will play Barbie in the movie, in a renowned street of Tijuana.
In the artist’s, @davebaptiste_, latest Instagram post, one can see Margot Robbie getting out of the iconic pink car; however, what really fascinated people is that behind her one can see the famous Dax store located on Third Street in Downtown Tijuana.
Dave Baptiste is a chemical pharmacobiologist who graduated from Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC). He is from Guerrero and has lived in Tijuana for more than 30 years, which makes him an “adopted Tijuana native”. He uses his knowledge in graphic design and editing to place artists and celebrities in several spots in the city.

This is not the only work by Baptiste, as he regularly shares incredible photomontages where we see artists in areas that only Tijuana natives can easily identify and even puts them in day-to-day situations. For example, this is a picture of Taylor Swift getting out of Mamut bar or Howl and Sophie from “Howl’s Moving Castle” getting on a red calafia (small bus).
The love and support of Dave’s work has been overwhelming on social media as his images have been shared on repeated occasions. In his latest picture with Margot Robbie, users also pointed out the Dax store, claiming it is one of the best in the city.
