Sierra de San Pedro Mártir National Park is already open, there is still snow!

The Sierra de San Pedro Mártir National Park was closed for practically two days due to rain

Rain and low temperatures caused the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir National Park region to be closed for practically two days, however, authorities have released a statement stating it is opening once more and the best thing about this: there is snow!

The subdirector of the National Park, Verónica Meza López, stated that in the park the temperature is currently -4°C in the morning and is open from 8 AM to 5 PM. Due to the temperatures caused by the snowfall, no one is allowed to camp or travel outside the area meant for the general public.

She pointed out that the National Astronomic Observatory and the Museum of Natural History and Culture Semeel Jak are closed.

The most important recommendations for visitors are to always follow instructions by park rangers, mechanically check your vehicle, supply yourself with enough food, water, and gas for your stay, and respect the signs and speed limits inside the park.

Meza López said that pets, bringing firewood, driving outside of the paths with signs, littering, lighting bonfires, or camping are not allowed.

To find out more information, call their office from Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM at 01 (646) 172-3000 ext. 3229, or email them at parquenacional@sanpedromartir.org.
