Judiciary recognizes work by Governor Marina del Pilar in her search for public justice

Since Marina del Pilar became governor of Baja California, she has worked relentlessly to strengthen justice in favor of the state’s citizens, working together with the state’s judiciary, led by judge Alejandro Isaac Fragozo López. They are both working together to make the state’s judicial system more efficient.

During the 51st edition of “Wednesday Morning Press Conference with Marina del Pilar” that took place in Mexicali, the judge pointed out that since he became president of the Judiciary, he found abandoned hearing rooms and judges working in poor facilities. That is why the joint efforts with the governor have made great steps forward regarding judicial infrastructure.

Fragozo López stated that Governor Marina del Pilar handled the judiciary by giving it enough budget to deal with the basic needs of the justice system and explained that these resources for 2022 have been at least 18% higher than last year's. Thank to this, they have been able to carry out their projects.

“A court hadn’t opened in Baja California since 2004, and thanks to the support by the executive branch we were able to open three new ones and there’s even one that is opening in Tecate quite soon,” stated the president of the state judiciary.

Among the main achievements during this first year of coordination, there is the possibility of carrying out the tax stamp of the judiciary’s payroll, as well as the depressurisation of Forensic Medical Services (SEMEFO), two forensic cemetery projects in 2023, the expansion of judicial units especially on family matters, participation of the Judiciary in the Center for the Justice of Women (CEJUM) to support women who have been victims of violence, and the beginning of operations of the Family Coexistence Center.

Marina del Pilar launches sixth campaign against corruption in Baja California

Governor Marina del Pilar also led the launch of the Sixth Campaign against Corruption in Baja California which, along with several authorities, will carry out actions to guarantee public servants act properly and correctly use public resources, which must be allocated to benefit society at large. The governor emphasized that there is zero tolerance for corruption in her administration.

“Make no mistake, we are not going to ignore another irregularity, because there is no corruption act that is so small that it needs to be minimized or pretend that it didn’t happen. We need to eradicate this erroneous concept that corruption is cultural, it is something that is completely false,” she said. She then awarded the children who participated in the contest "Pintando nuestro Estado con valores".
