The Secretariat of the Environment and Sustainable Development revealed that the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir National Park (PNSSPM) is currently open and ready to receive visitors, after cleaning efforts were carried out on freeways due to the snowfall recorded during the week which dropped temperatures to -6°C (21°F).

The Subdirector of PNSSPM, Verónica Meza Lopez revealed that it is a natural protected area which offers great beauty and diverse natural attractions, where one has the opportunity to watch the wildlife that lives in the state. That is why it is very important for the population to follow park rangers’ instructions in order to protect the area’s flora and fauna during their stay.

She stated that the park currently has temperatures of -6°C in the morning and is open from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Meza López said that the most important recommendations for visitors are to check their vehicles, supply themselves with food, water, and enough gas for their stay, as well as to respect the signs and speed limits inside the park.

They emphasized that pets are not allowed, one is also not allowed to bring their own firewood, drive outside of selected roads, litter, make campfires, or camp in non-selected areas.

In addition, PNSSPM promptly requests that people take the garbage created during their stay.
