The band, which started in Madrid, was founded in 1982 by bassist and singer David Summers; guitarist Rafa Gutiérrez, and drummer Javier Molina. In the mid-1980s they became popular in Spain and during the 1990s, their music became popular all over the American continent, especially in Spanish-speaking countries. They have released 12 albums and have produced two films based on the group’s music; one of them was filmed in Mexico.
Hombres G is one of Spain’s most popular bands as their songs are often played when people begin to get into music. Songs such as "Te quiero" or "Devuélveme a mi chica" are still being played on the radio, bars, and dance clubs.
