High temperatures in the border region of Tijuana were present both on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week reaching 35°C (95 °F), even higher than temperatures in the Mexicali desert which reached 32°C (90 °F). Now, these weather conditions will stop for at least several days in this area, bringing rain and a drop in temperature and weather conditions.
According to The Weather Channel, in the afternoon/evening of Friday, October 21, rain probabilities will go up by 8%; on Saturday, October 22, these chances will increase by 20% and will appear from 9 PM to midnight, approximately. On this day, a maximum temperature of 20°C (68 °F) and mostly cloudy skies will occur. On the other hand, it is estimated that on Sunday, October 23 weather conditions will reach 19°C (66 °F), while rain chances will decrease to 14%.
Forecasted minimum temperatures will range from 15°C (59 °F) to 10°C (50 °F), which is why one will notice a drastic change in comparison with the first three days of this week. The Civil Protection Agency of Baja California shared a statement where they asked the general public to protect themselves due to these temperature changes, especially regarding vulnerable populations such as children under 5 years of age and elderly people.
It should be noted that winds from the west with gusts of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour have been forecasted. A low-pressure system moving from south to east is the main cause of these meteorological conditions, which will be accompanied by cloudy skies.
