Internal conflict in the United States due to immigration issues has not ceased; strategies from southern governors against the immigration policies of president Joe Biden have caused New York City Mayor Eric Adams to declare a state of emergency to address a crisis situation over an influx of migrants.

Since September, an average of five to six buses have been arriving in New York City, not counting the more than 17,000 people that have arrived in the city from the southern border.

According to BBC, during a press conference, the mayor of New York City pointed out that one in five people in the city shelter system is currently an asylum seeker. He also added that the families that arrived in buses were accompanied by school-aged children and are in serious need of medical care.

The arrival of immigrants in buses will cost approximately $1 billion dollars for this fiscal year. City authorities are asking for federal aid to help with the costs. Above all, fearing that New York City will be left without any funds and will be unable to pay for other services, Mayor Adams has mentioned that they are doing everything they can to solve this problem, but they are about to reach their limit.

Internal conflicts in the United States have begun to cause economic problems in Democrat-run states. The actions by Republican-run states, such as Texas, Arizona, and Florida, whose initiatives play an important role when it comes to voters’ choices, have been quite clear: Republicans will continue to fight, through immigrants, to destabilize Joe Biden’s administration.

These actions are looking to increase pressure on the White House to modify policies regarding immigration matters and decrease the number of people who cross the border from Mexico into the United States, which has reached record-breaking figures this year.
