Today, a press conference took place to talk about the 1st edition of the Festival del Vino Sin Fronteras (Wine Without Borders Festival) that will take place at Culinary Art School facilities, located at Paseo del Río, 3ra Etapa.

The press conference was presided by the President of the Committee Provino of Baja California, Mauricio Cantú Barajas; the Secretary of Tourism of Baja California, Mtro. Miguel Aguiñiga Rodríguez; Director of Culinary Art School, Ana Laura Martínez Gardoqui, and the representative of the Civil Association “Mujeres por Mujeres”, Michelle Sánchez.

Provino, event organizer, is also the place where more than 80 wineries have gathered, positioning Baja California as one of the main winemakers in the region and in Mexico.

Mauricio Cantú has mentioned that one of the first products that this state made as a regional reference to the rest of the country was gastronomy, specifically in the city of Ensenada. He mentions that one of the omissions back then was not including wine among the unique and high-quality products of Baja California.

As many know, wine from the Baja Californian valleys has earned recognition as one of the best wines in the world. Specialized sommeliers and tasters have ranked the products from this region as one of the best, high-quality products, in that same order. Cantú states that the quality and benefits to physical health should position wine as one of the main dishes in Mexican diets, in a clear moderate amount.

The Festival, which will take place on October 22, 2022, at the Agua Caliente Stadium parking lot will give Tijuana natives and tourism at large the possibility of discovering at least 50 wineries. In addition, there will be a gastronomic tasting session prepared mainly by
Culinary Art School. Tickets will be sold at $60 dollars ($1,200 pesos), where you will be able to attend these wine tasting sessions from 1 PM to 5 PM.

The first wine festival without borders will have contributions by the Civil Association Mujeres por Mujeres, which is an aid support center that helps women with cancer in Baja California. During the festival, members of this association will be present to bring people the necessary information so that they can learn all the help they provide.
