Baja Californians will soon be able to enjoy “La Última del Desierto”, a soda shop whose theme is completely based on the Coca-Cola drink.
This establishment will be a soda shop located at Avenida Reforma, in the corner of Morelos Street 21100 in Mexicali. Besides presenting a vintage look of this drink as their main theme, they are also looking to revive the nostalgic essence of the 1950s and 1960s.
The soda fountain will have a food menu, as well as a variety of drinks, according to the social media of La Última del Desierto. They will also have products such as chilidogs, snowballs, fries, the classic Coca-Cola drink, and other edible products.
The soda shop concept, as its name indicates, is a shop where the main product that is consumed is soda. One of the first ones in Mexico opened in 1965 in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, and was called Bum Bum. They played popular music of the time and was frequently visited by teenagers.
Coca-Cola was created in a lab by US chemist-pharmacist and army veteran John Stith Pemberton when he was trying to find a cure for diarrhea and nausea.
Since 1892, the Coca-Cola Company has been headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
