Baja California still third place in exports nationwide

This was revealed by the Secretary of Economy and Innovation

Kurt Honold Morales, head of the Secretariat of Economy and Innovation (SEI) revealed that Baja California is still third place in exports in all of Mexico, with a value of $1.6 billion pesos, representing 12% of all total exports in the country.

Registered annual growth is 23.5% which has overtaken greatly the level of exports in 2019, when they increased 5.3%, the official stated.

On the other hand, the state’s imports value was $1.5 billion pesos, which were equal to $73,158 million dollars in the same year. This represents 10.7% of the country’s imports and, just like exports, is ranked third place nationwide. The products that were imported increased more than those exported with 30.5% yearly. The increase in 2019 was just 1.7%.

In this scenario, the state has currently a commercial surplus balance that promotes economic dynamism, creation of new jobs, and an increase in the state’s revenue.

Lastly, the secretary said that SEI is working to position the state’s products abroad with technical assistance and training programs, as well as in-person events and fairs. They are also working to promote infrastructure projects to ease the free flow of merchandise through the territory.
