The Governor agrees with researchers who believe that the covid-19 vaccination is the most effective weapon against the epidemic.
The Governor, Marina del Pilar vila Olmeda, commended President Andrés Manuel López Obrador for his support in the anti-covid vaccine campaign in Baja California, citing the State's current vaccination margin as the highest in the country.
The Governor highlighted the efforts to vaccinate minors at the ninth edition of "Morning Wednesday with Marina del Pilar" held in Mexicali. Beginning on Thursday, January 13, the vaccination of young people turning 14 years in 2022 will start to protect the whole population.
"It's critical that we all remember that the vaccination is the most effective weapon we have for preventing terrible repercussions among those who are afflicted," Marina del Pilar said.
The Governor emphasized the importance of the state administration's role in the battle against the epidemic, emphasizing the need of protecting everyone's health at all times.
In this regard, he stated that with the arrival of the orange color at the State's epidemiological traffic light, a series of measures would be implemented, such as reducing capacity in recreational spaces to 50% and shopping centers to 75%, to reduce transmission chains forcefully.
According to José Adrián Medina Amarillas, the Secretary of Health of Baja California, the omicron variety has shown more transmissibility; thus, authorities are taking steps to prevent the impact of the fourth wave on the health of the Baja Californians.
The Governor included a statement in her letter wishing President López Obrador a rapid recovery after receiving a positive Covid-19 test, as well wishes to state media members who are dealing with this situation.
Finally, Marina del Pilar asked Baja California residents to continue wearing face masks in public places and keep in mind the healthy distance, continuous hand washing, and the use of sanitizing gel, all of which have been demonstrated to be effective. to avoid the spread of infection
The Secretary of State for Education, Gerardo Arturo Sols Benavides; Efrén Zazueta, head of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Health; and Néstor Hernández, director of Evaluation and Monitoring at the Scientific Committee that evaluates the pandemic's evolution in the entity were all present at the morning conference on Wednesday.
