The Secretary of Health asks not to forget about sanitary measures

Entering the third wave, coronavirus cases have increased 143% compared to last month, this was announced during the daily update by Baja California's Secretary of Health, Alonso Pérez Rico.

According to what was reported, Tijuana is the municipality with the most active cases of coronavirus; it has a total of 553 cases, while Mexicali is the second with 415, followed by Ensenada with 256, Playas de Rosarito has 67, Tecate has 66 and San Felipe has only eleven.

Likewise, the variant that has been the protagonist of this third wave of coronavirus is the delta variant and those most affected have been people who have not been vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Currently, hospital occupancy is 49.07%, which means that there are 165 patients in hospitals, while most of the active cases are ambulatory, that is, they are recovering at home.

According to the Secretary of Health, it is expected that in the following week the third wave will begin to subside and cases will start to decrease. However, he reminded us that we are still in yellow color and that it will be necessary to continue using sanitary measures such as healthy distance, the use of masks and antibacterial gel.
