Without giving details, Wendy Fry shared on her social networks the loss of her 18 year old daughter Hanna Fry on May 31st.
Wendy, who is known for her incredible and responsible journalism on the Tijuana-San Diego border, is looking for the strength to live without her daughter, while going through expenses such as medical bills, funeral costs and burial.
One of her colleagues, Kristina Davis, created a GoFoundMe account to support the journalist with these expenses, which she believes "no one should have to worry about right now".
For those who don't know about Wendy and her background, she is a journalist who has contributed to media such as The San Diego Union Tribune and NBC San Diego. She has also won SPJ's Sol Price Award for Responsible Journalism in 2012 for her coverage of corruption in Sweetwater schools, and won the San Diego County Taxpayers Association's Grand Golden Watchdog Award in 2017.
