Recently, NASA reported that 85% of the country shows worrying drought conditions and that this 2021 is expected to be an extremely dry season, not seen since 2011. These circumstances put some of Mexico's most important resources such as agriculture, livestock, public and urban water supply systems at stake.
As a sign of this, the National Hurricane Warning Center released this Monday a pair of satellite images where a wide contrast between images captured in April 2015 and April 2021 can be observed. Both images were provided by NASA.

On the other hand, a report from the National Water Commission (CONAGUA) indicated that the center and north of the country have gone through an extreme drought and have had 20% less of all types of rainfall (scarce, spotty...), while NASA reports confirm that Mexican dams are at low levels.
