The border has had restrictions on non-essential travel to the United States since March 2020, however, there are still a large number of people crossing. Likewise, many U.S. citizens come to Tijuana, either for vacation, to visit family or other reasons.

In many of these trips, they usually bring food or items with them, however, there are some items that are prohibited from crossing into Mexico.

Through the SENASICA ( National Service of Health, Safety and Agri-Food Quality) application "Qué T traes" you will be able to know which products you can bring into Mexico, as well as those that are forbidden to enter.

These are the items you cannot bring into Mexico:

• Balanced feed for any species (except for dogs and cats)

• Balanced feed for dogs and cats with bovine, ovine and caprine meat

• Dead animals or their parts, blood and vegetable waste

• Handcrafts made of carved or polished horn or bone

• Coffee and green tobacco

• Fresh meat of any species (including packaged and labeled)

• Fresh chestnuts

• Containers with animals, animal remains (blood, feathers, bones, other)

• Live, raw, dried crustaceans in any presentation (whole, tails, legs, etc.)

• Any regulated animal species (except dogs and cats).

• Flowers, plants, vegetables and dried fruits

• Dried grains and cereals (beans, rice, corn, etc.)

• Egg

• Clothing with bones, skin and feathers of animals

• Vegetative material for planting (seeds, bulbs, cuttings, buds, cuttings, etc.)

• Homemade or handmade products

• Disposable bedding and similar materials (diapers, newspaper, sawdust, rags, etc.) accompanying the animal(s) are not allowed.

• Fish

• Campero type chickens

• Aquaculture products for animal consumption

• Products with material of animal origin (hay, straw, etc.) or animal origin (feathers, etc.)

• Products of regulated aquatic origin in bad condition and/or in decomposition and/or presence of larvae or insects Untanned leather products

• Pharmaceutical, chemical and biological products for animal use or consumption, as well as those indicated for therapeutic or research purposes.

• Cheese, milk, cream, fresh and/or unlabeled yogurt

• Sandwiches, snacks, cakes, sandwiches, hamburgers, pizzas, etc., with meat and dairy content without complete packaging or sanitary seal

• Soil

• Live turtles

• Hunting trophies (mounted, fresh, salted, other)

• Vessels or articles with animal or vegetable content
