Tijuana natives continue to be recognized for their talent, now it is the turn of Mexican stuntman Damián Vázquez who was recently recruited by a Canadian production company to shoot four films in the Cayman Islands where he will work with internationally known actors.
You may know Damián Vázquez from some of the series and movies in which he has appeared as a stunt double. This Tijuana native will now have the opportunity to work with actors who have appeared in Avatar, 24, Fuller House, The Flight, Attendant and Mr. Robot. He is one of the few Mexican actors with certifications to perform medium and high difficulty scenes.
He also has on-screen skills such as handling weapons, combat and immolating himself in fire. On the other hand, he has skills that have led him to have a sports and military career, which is why he was selected for these recordings.
For the actor "working at an international level is a great responsibility, I feel very honored that Canadians trust a Mexican to take care of their actors, my dream is to be a recognized action actor, I don't know if I'm going to make it, but I'm going to die trying".
Although this profession is little known, since people focus more on the actors than on the people who perform the stunts, it is a job that requires great discipline, commitment and, above all, physical training, coupled with this it is necessary for the actor to make an investment in state-of-the-art protective equipment.
