Authorities prepare to vaccinate people under 60 years of age

Getting closer to giving the dose to people between 50 and 59 years of age.

As of April 2, 236 thousand 655 seniors have been vaccinated throughout Baja California, covering almost all of this sector, state authorities are analyzing the outlook to start attending people between 50 and 59 years of age.

According to the Secretary of Health, Dr. Perez Rico, last Friday, April 2, the vaccine was only applied to less than one thousand people in Tijuana, due to the fact that almost all of this population has already received the dose. In view of this, the possibility of proceeding with the vaccination of those over 50 years of age is being analyzed.

Perez Rico commented that they are already preparing for the next group (those between 50 and 59 years of age), there is still no exact date but they will be notified well in advance.

The Secretariat of Health shared that Tijuana is the municipality with the most vaccinations, with a total of 86 thousand 997 and in second place urban Mexicali with 66 thousand 953 vaccinations applied.

The Secretary pointed out that on April 2, a total of 871 vaccines were applied in Tijuana, at the posts located at the Francisco Villa health center, the Benito Juarez elementary school and the CECyTE Bc Playas de Tijuana campus.

Likewise, Perez Rico commented that the 21 thousand 421 vaccines available from Pfizer for the second doses will be applied in Tecate. He also stressed that those who are going to apply the second dose should return to the same place where the first dose was applied.
