Baja California ranks first in COVID-19 deaths in Mexico

17 out of every 100 people infected lose the battle against the disease

Baja California has become the state with the highest number of deaths due to COVID-19, as 17 out of every 100 people infected lose the battle against this disease, according to data from the Secretariat of Health collected by the UNAM.

Hidalgo and Sonora are in second and third place nationally with 15 deaths per 100 cases.

Currently, Mexico City and the State of Mexico are the states with the highest number of active cases of COVID-19, while Campeche has the lowest number.

The municipalities with the most cases are Alvaro Obregon (Mexico City) with 3 thousand 975 and Iztapalapa with 3 thousand 441.

In Baja California, 43 thousand 202 people have been infected, there are 706 active cases up until yesterday and 6 thousand 946 people have died since the pandemic began.
