Due to the return to red traffic light in the state of Baja California, last December 14th it was announced that the "Parque Nacional Constitución de 1857" was closing its doors again due to the coronavirus pandemic, expressing that taking care of everyone's health was its main priority.

Although the pandemic situation in the state is not yet under control, there has been a slight decrease in the increase of COVID-19 infections, which is why health authorities recently authorized the return of Baja California to the orange traffic light.

And although this news brought with it the hope that some "non-essential" establishments, such as this recreational center, would reopen their doors again, it was through social media that SEMARNAT (Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources) confirmed that the "Parque Nacional Constitución de 1857" will remain closed until further notice.

The jurisdiction in charge of the park's maintenance and surveillance recommended visitors not to travel to the area nor to transit near the neighboring roads where the Sierra de Juárez area or zone of influence is located.

Constitución de 1857 National Park is a forested extension catalogued as a Natural Protected Area located in the municipality of Ensenada in the state of Baja California; the area is home to the "Laguna Hanson" and endemic species of plants and animals such as deer, pumas, coyotes, among others.
