During President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador's morning conference on Tuesday, August 11, the Head of the Department of Foreign Affairs (SRE), Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon, reported on the opening of Mexican consulates in the United States.

The Secretary said that because of the COVID-19 pandemic, these facilities were closed, but currently most of these units are already available and operating in the American country, except for the consulates located in Denver and Phoenix which, under instructions from the authorities in these areas, only operate in case of emergencies.

The SRE also mentioned that a new COVID-19 Test Center will soon be opened at the Consulate of Mexico in Los Angeles, which will operate with high safety standards.

According to Ebrard, this center will have 1,500 tests per week available for co-nationals and people of Hispanic origin, all in collaboration with the First District of Los Angeles County.

So far, the results of the Windows of Health in the representations of Mexico in the United States that operate with the support of the Department of Health, have benefited two million 258 thousand 665 people remotely and 451 thousand 108 directly.
