With this scenario, the Secretary of Health explained why some of the activities are reopening and why others are not, when the region remains under a red light.

"Baja California, the indicators tell that we could be under orange light, we have a tendency to be under yellow light, but if we hurry, they will turn us back to red light. Regardless of whether they turn us back to red, what happens with that is more cases, more activity, more community dispersion," Perez Rico said.

In view of this, the authorities presented some of the activities that can be carried out under orange light (color authorized to Baja California by the federation a week ago).

"This is precisely what we analyzed and at the end of the day we made the decision, based on what is happening. Some of these activities have already begun to be carried out with a capacity of 20%, 30%, some have not been started, but we are analyzing all of them," said the Secretary of Health.

It is worth mentioning that this explanation arose from the doubts and criticisms made by Baja Californian natives after the reopening of movie theaters and gyms in some counties, to which Perez Rico indicated: "that is why the decisions to open certain activities, very specifically under strict health protocols, so that this does not escalate".

This is why activities such as concerts and bars will be able to return until they are under a green light, the health expert said.

Despite this, some bars have opened in the city of Tijuana.

Perez Rico said there are still affected counties with a large number of active cases, such as Tijuana, Mexicali, and Ensenada, adding up to 590 to date, so if there is a reopening of more activities, the situation could get worse.

"There is no spot in Ensenada where there are zero active cases", added the Secretary of Health as he presented the map of the location of these cases in that port.

What do you think of these reopenings? Do you think we'll change to a yellow light soon?
