TIJUANA.- Anthony Bourdain was known as the chef who combined the two things he enjoyed most: cooking and traveling, so he invited people to get rid of any obstacle and just go for it.

During 2012, when Tijuana was considered one of the most dangerous cities in the country, the New York chef ventured to visit Baja California, but not before making a stop in Tijuana, where he discovered the great flavor of the region, which made him reconsider the situation and invited everyone to try the food, and to stop seeing the city as a "hotbed of violence."

Even on one occasion when he was asked what place he recommended in San Diego for dinner, he responded that he would personally go to Tijuana and visit Restaurant Misión 19.

The show that allowed him to make a stop to the border city was Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations Season 8 Chapter 7.

But Misión 19 wasn't the only place he visited, but also the Sótano Suizo, a visit that wasn't part of the program:

Famous bars in the city were not left out and Dandys del Sur and La Mezcalera were some of the lucky places who had the presence of this great chef.

Of course he didn't miss the chance of visiting the great Tacos Las Ahumaderas, a very loved spot for Tijuanenses.
