Disney Pixar Coco has conquered Mexico with the colorful and emotional tale about the Day of the Dead magical journey created by Miguel Rodriguez. This to such level, that now it has become the most viewed film in the history of Mexico.
The Minions movie had this record before in Mexico with a total of 16.14 million viewers during its time in movie theaters, a figure that was exceeded by Coco in just 17 days, according to CinePremiere.
According to the National Chamber of the Cinematographic Industry, Coco closed the weekend (from November 10 to 12) with a total of 16.43 million viewers and raised a total of 785.25 million pesos (approx. 41 million dollars) , which also makes it the highest grossing animated film of the history of Mexico, and only behind The Avengers of Marvel (827 million pesos) to become the highest grossing film of all time in this country.
