No more ban! The President of the United States, Barack Obama, has removed any restrictions on the entry of rum and cigars from Cuba to the North American country.
Previously it had set a limit of $100 for these products and was limited the personal consumption.
However, with the recent warming of relationship between the two countries the president has made the decision to remove the limits for the importation of these products into the U.S., stating that this could strengthen ties between the two nations.
We must take into account that the cost of a well-known Havana cigar outside Cuba easily reaches or exceeds $100, hence the importance of removing the ban.
This decision it's also expected to increase American tourism in the Caribbean country. Just last year, 160,000 Americans visited Cuba after diplomatic relationships were reestablished.
What could this mean for Cuban cigar sellers south of the border in Mexico, by the way?
