SAN QUINTIN Baja's Secretary of Tourism (SECTURE) has nine culinary, sports and entertainment events scheduled in San Quintin for this year, all of them will contribute in attracting national and international tourism to this area south of Ensenada.
The Deputy Chief of SECTURE in San Quintin, Ramón Villavicencio Aguilar, stated that they expect to receive a great deal of visitors thanks to this events, especially tourists coming from the U.S.

He said that the Paella Festival is scheduled for April where renowned chefs will take part and that a cycling event called "Cruzando la Baja" will happen in May.
He also stated that the Third International Kayak Annual Competition will happen in June, where a high tourist turnout is expected, while on July the "Almejazo" event will take place, which they hope will place San Quintin as the clam capital, once they highlight its rich culinary sources. They also plan on creating a 600 kg shellfish cocktail, making it the biggest one in Mexico and breaking a Guinness World Record.

Villavicencio Aguilar added that part of their plans for this year also include a Beer Festival, a Fishing Tournament and a Tomato and Wine Festival.
