New Bridge Linking Tijuana Airport to San Diego Opens Today

The bridge will be free until Dec 18.

The new Cross Border Xpress that links San Diego with Tijuana's International Airport will open its doors today and to celebrate its opening, the use of the new bridge will be free until December 18.

Travelers will be able to use the Cross Border Xpress (CBX) starting this Wednesday at 9 am; however the bridge will be open 24/7.

After a week and a half, the bridge will start charging a fee for its use. Tickets can be purchased online at www.crossborderxpress.com for $18 dollars per adult. For families with kids between the ages of 3 and 12 and senior citizens, the ticket price will have a 20% discount and kids younger than 2 will cross for free.

For those of you who think this bridge can be an alternative to crossing the border through the Otay Mesa or San Ysidro Port of Entry, you must know that the CBX is exclusively for Tijuana Airport passengers.

San Diego's new airport terminal will be open to the general public so that passengers can be picked up and dropped off along the San Diego – Tijuana border.
