TIJUANA / SAN DIEGO .- The binational bridge that will connect the Tijuana International Airport with a new terminal on the San Diego side, called the Cross-border Express, will begin operations next December 9th, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
This is a great option for passengers who arrive in Tijuana; theyll now skip the hassle of traveling to the San Ysidro or Otay Mesa border crossing. This is a 100 meter-long bridge where youll be able to cross the border towards Otay Mesa, and wait for your family or friends there without having them pick you up in Tijuana.
Named as the "Cross Border Xpress", itll be the only port of entry at the border connected to an airport, as well as being the only one with a fee. To use it youll have to pay a fee of $15 dollars as well as having a plane boarding pass with you. If you arrive without an already purchased pass, then itll cost you $18 dollars to cross over.
Its worth noting that this bridge will have everything necessary to declare goods and will work as another U.S./Mexico port of entry with the sole exception of the requirements already mentioned above.
