Grey Whale Stranded in Tijuana Beach Gets Buried

Numbers worldwide have increased as months go by

PLAYAS DE TIJUANA.- April is usually the month when many gray whales make their way back home to Alaska, however, this year the number of whales stranded ashore has increased, and sometimes there isn't an explanation.

It could me that they get captured, hit by ships or that they ate too much plastic, but yesterday afternoon the corps of a grey whale was found in Playas de Tijuana, just a few feet from the border. Workers from the Mexican Environmental Protection Ministry buried the animal in the sand, which according to reports, died due to natural causes.

Last Saturday, an agonizing seal with breathing complications landed ashore on the same beach, where it luckily was rescued. This year has seen countless animals stranded on both local and worldwide beaches.
