Tickets for the game between the Tijuana Xolos and the MLS team Chivas USA are on sale.
The San Diego Clasico, as the match is being billed, will be played at Torero Stadium at the University of San Diego on Feb. 22 at 8 p.m.
In last years Classic, the Xolos played against the Los Angeles Galaxy, in the same stadium. The Xolos, which had yet to move up to Mexicos premier First Division, beat David Beckham, Landon Donovan and company via penalty kicks.
Chivas USA will play the February game as part of its preseason schedule while the Xoloitzcuintles will be in the middle of the regular Clausura season.
The Tijuana team is expected to field its starters for this game, which will give San Diego fans a chance to see the Xolos without having to cross the border.
The Xolos have played well in the first four games of the season and are tied for second place in the general standings. The team takes on Puebla on Sunday at 10 a.m. at Estadio Caliente.
Tickets for the San Diego Classic will be $25, $35 and $45. They may be obtained through Tickets.com or by phoning 619.260.7550.
