SEPESCA BC: 45 boats will participate in Ensenada’s light parade

This Christmas event, organized by Unión de Armadores Unidos de Pesca Deportiva, will be able to be admired by thousands of attendants

Unión de Armadores Unidos de Pesca Deportiva, with support from the Secretariat of Fishing and Aquaculture (SEPESCA BC) led by Alma Rosa García Juárez, announced the 10th edition of the Light Parade which will take place with the participation of 45 illuminated boats on December 16 and December 17 at the port of Ensenada.

Representing the head of SEPESCA BC, the head of the state's Sport Fishing, Víctor Hugo Méndez, said at a press conference that nightly events such as this one only take place at Cabo San Lucas and Mazatlán.

He highlighted that this is a good way to take advantage of the end of the year, with the participation of people involved in nautical tourism, who have always had the support from the state administration led by Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, in this and other events.

The president of Armadores Unidos de Pesca Deportiva de Ensenada, Martín Ramírez Jaime, recognized the support from state, municipal, and federal authorities, with which it would be impossible to carry out this event where around 5,000 attendants tend to show up.

This is an event for a healthy family gathering. This is the event where the most people attend at the port of Ensenada, with people from all over the state, and Sonora, and southern California, USA”, he said.

According to the organizers' schedule, on Saturday, December 16, these illuminated boats will depart at 5 PM and trips will take place from 7 PM to 10 PM. On Sunday, trips can be taken from 5 PM to 10 PM, with a recovery cost.

This natural phenomenon is a show that can be appreciated by lovers of nature, thanks to the services offered by boat operators.

Representing Capitanía de Puertos de Ensenada, retired rear admiral Pedro Murillo Garay stated that navy authorities will be keeping an eye on this event, which is why he stated that people who offer tourism services must keep their boats at good level of performance, taking safety measures when necessary.
