Could there be an earthquake in California between May 1 and 2? Website EarthquakePrediction has worried Californian residents after posting a warning on Twitter about a possible 6.0 or higher magnitude earthquake that could take place in San Francisco Bay.
However, it is important to note that EarthquakePrediction is not an official earthquake prediction source and their methods haven’t been validated by the scientific community. In fact, seismology experts have stated for years that there is no certified method to predict earthquakes.
"URGENT: A WARNING has been issued for a major earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.0 or above, likely to occur in the San Francisco Bay area on May 1 or May 2. Please take immediate safety precautions and stay alert. #earthquake #SanFranciscoBay" - https://t.co/Jy5p5TwCyn pic.twitter.com/L6ErN5rTkJ

EarthquakePrediction is a website that bases its quake predictions in a variety of factors such as changes in thermal temperature, low frequency sounds, microquakes, human and animal behaviors, moon phases, seismic gaps, satellite earthquake clouds, and changes in water temperatures. However, several experts have asked people to stay calm and not believe this website’s lies.
On the other hand, official US seismic monitoring websites have recommended people to take preventive measures to be ready in case of an earthquake including having an emergency kit and an evacuation plan.
In addition, seismology experts underscore that California is prone to earthquakes and that residents should always be ready for any incident. Earthquakes can occur at any moment and at any place, and it is important to be prepared.
