The Civil Protection Agency says that rain will continue throughout this weekend and recommends the population at large to take preventive measures in order to avoid accidents.
To keep oneself safe and postpone road trips are the main recommendations, according to the instructions to prioritize people’s safety issued by the Governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, and the Secretary of the Interior, Catalino Zavala Márquez.
According to a radar image by National Meteorological Services, there is a possibility of snowfall at Sierra Juárez, Sierra San Pedro Mártir, and La Rumorosa; meanwhile, there is a chance of rain in Tijuana, Rosarito, Tecate, Mexicali, and Ensenada, with a possibility of showers in the coastal area.
CEPC coordinator, Salvador Cervantes Hernández, stated that they have been working compiling information and monitoring data regarding the rainfall of February, 25, 2023, which show the following incidents:
01 Traffic accident which resulted in the death of one person
01 Traffic accident where the culprit fled the scene
18 Traffic accidents with no injuries
06 Collisions with injuries
02 Rollovers without any wounded people
01 Rollover with wounded people
05 Stuck vehicles
01 Flood
03 Landslides
01 Rescue
04 Short circuits
02 Fallen posts
01 Wall collapse
01 Multiple accident with injuries
Incidents were handled by the proper authorities. People are encouraged to reduce mobility and call 911 in case of emergency or if you need aid to move to a shelter.
