Disneyland parks are known for their incredible attractions, characters, and experiences. Though a lot of classic elements still remain there, they have also been modernizing throughout the years and have given new movies a chance to be a part of their parks. This is why The Walt Disney Co. wants to bring to Disneyland California a new experience from the film Avatar in order to explore new opportunities.
According to CEO Bob Iger, the film “Avatar: The Way of Water” is currently the fourth highest-grossing film of all time, having earned around $2.2 billion dollars at the box office so far. Though it is still unknown what kind of experience will arrive at Disneyland California, the creation of “Pandora. The World of Avatar” in Animal Kingdom in Florida had great success, which caused an increase in visits.
Bob Iger stated:
We have learned that when we invest in increasing capacity, the Star Wars lands would be a good example of that, Pandora was a great example of that, we can grow our business. In fact, if you look at the results, when we put Pandora in Animal Kingdom, from year to year, they were stunning in terms of how many more people visited Animal Kingdom.
After listening to concerns by Disneyland park visitors regarding price increases and other situations, the company claimed that they will make several changes, such as:
- Stop charging for nighttime parking at Walt Disney World.
- Owners of annual passes will be able to visit parks without needing to make a reservation (except Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom).
- Digital downloads of pictures taken at the park at no additional cost (on day of purchase) for those with the Genie+ service.
