As of Monday, Baja California will go under the orange traffic light

There are still almost 800 active COVID-19 cases in the state

The head of the Baja California Secretary of Health, Alonso Perez Rico, confirmed this morning that on Monday, February 15, the state will be under an orange traffic light. According to the Secretary, more than 40 state indicators were analyzed, so based on these, authorities approved to move to this coloration.

It is worth mentioning that on Friday, the federal government moved the state from orange to yellow, since the sum of the different indicators taken into consideration by the country resulted in 12, being 9-15 the range to be able to be positioned in this coloration.

Among the indicators evaluated are the Effective Reproduction Rate (ER), incidence of active cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, the number of beds and ventilators occupied by patients with coronavirus, mortality per 100 thousand inhabitants, positivity, hospitalizations per 100 thousand inhabitants, etc.

So far, the number of COVID-19 infections that Baja California has had is 42 thousand 282 has in the pandemic is, most of these belonging to Mexicali, accumulating 16 thousand 165 of this total.

On the other hand, the number of people who have lost their lives due to this disease is 7 thousand and 56, 3 thousand and 152 of these have been registered in Tijuana.

It is worth mentioning that there are still 790 active cases in the region: 310 in Tijuana, 235 in Mexicali, 139 in Ensenada, 48 in San Quintin, 31 in Rosarito, 16 in San Felipe and 12 in Tecate.
