According to the National weather organization from Mexico (SMN), the cold front No. 19 and the Second Winter Storm of the season are slowly traveling northwest and north of Mexico, so in addition to rains, there is a cold and windy environment, as well like snowfall in the mountains of Baja California
This Wednesday the first snowfall of the week was reported, which continues so far. This can be seen in the live cameras of the Observatorio Astronómico Nacional del Instituto de Astronomía, where you can see the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir, completely covered with snow.
According to UnoTv.com, Civil Protection of the State has issued the instruction to close this park from Thursday until further notice, because there are no favorable conditions for visitors.
Manuel Rodríguez Monárrez, Planning and Policy Director, said that once the snowfall passes and the snow is removed from the access point, the park will be reopened.
It is important to remember that to attend the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir, you have to take some things into consideration, such as wearing appropriate clothing and footwear, bring water, food and enough fuel in vehicles. Only double traction vehicles can drive up to the park.
