Baja Secures Over $1.8 Million In Federal Funds For Sports And Culture

The SCHP and the State Government two very important agreements to achieve this

MEXICALI.- The State Government was able to sign two very important agreements that brought in over 124,000,000 pesos ($1,870,000,000 dlls) from the Ministry of Treasury and Public Credit (SCHP in Spanish), as a result of Baja California governor Francisco "Kiko" Vega de Lamadrid's lobbying in Mexico City for resources that will be applied to the funding of culture and the state sport infrastructure, in order to increase the opportunities that these important areas have to offer.

Both agreements were signed by the State's Secretary of Planning and Finance (SPF in Spanish), Antonio Valladolid Rodríguez and Head of the Politics and Budget Control Unit for the Ministry of Tresaury and Public Credit, Alfonso Isaac Gamboa Lozano. The collaboration to establish funds for the Expenditure Budget of the Federation (PEF) is destined to benefit the state's and its cities culture and sport infrastructure, will be contemplated.

Antonio Valladolid revealed that with this funding they seek to strengthen state and municipal projects, such as the "Fondo de Culltura" (Culture Fund) agreements, through which over 28,000,000 pesos ($420,000,000 dlls) will be destined to the construction of the Casa de la Cultura's Library in Ensenada, as well as building of a second stage for Casa de la Cultura in Tijuana.

On the other hand, the "Fondo de Esctructura Deportiva" (Sport Structure Fund) represents a investment of over $96,000,000 pesos ($1,440,000,000 dlls), which will include the rehabilitation of the Sports Unit of Ciudad Morelos in Mexicali, and the amplifying of the Valle Dorado Sports Unit in Tijuana as well as the construction of the Granjas del Gallo and Rosas Magallón soccer field in Ensenada.

"We are starting to receive the State Governor's funding for 2015 budget and we'll keep working hard on the development of these spaces that will benefit a bigger number of people in the state" concluded Valladolid.
