On April 10th, the Governor of Baja California, Francisco Vega de Lamadrid, and his wife, the State DIF President, Ms. Brenda Ruacho de Vega, received a visit from the president of the Fundación Teletón Mexico (Mexico Telethon Foundation), Fernando Landeros, who recognized the government of Baja California's efforts in attempting to bring a Children Rehabilitation Center Telethon (CRIT in Spanish) to the state and acknowledged the people of Baja California's effort in joining this cause.
The state's DIF president, Ms. Brenda Ruacho de Vega, thanked the Fundación Teletón Mexico's president, Fernando Landeros, for supporting the work initiated last November towards the project's consolidation and praised the media, whose reach has helped inform and join citizens to the project.
According to the 2010 housing census,there are about 109,000 people with disabilities in Baja California. Tijuana is the city with the highest number.
"Through this Center, we will bring encouragement and hope for children and their families, we will be able to integrate them into society so they can have better quality of life," he said.
