Marina del Pilar boosts aid to guarantee a right to education in Baja California

Important investments are being carried out in Baja California to contribute to the economic growth of more than 300,000 children and teenagers in the state

The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, stated that more than 300,000 students have received education aid that will allow them to learn and fully develop, highlighting that, for her administration, having children and teenagers who go to school be in better conditions is one of her priorities.

In the 62nd edition of Wednesday Morning Press Conference with Marina del Pilar, the state governor gave as an example the 280,000 basic education students who receive a hot breakfast every day, as it is clear to everyone that no student should go to school on an empty stomach.

Marina del Pilar recalled that education is not a privilege, but a right that must be guaranteed, which is why the government that she leads is working to strengthen the comprehensive wellbeing of Baja Californian families.

She added that school packages have been delivered for free to 160,000 students of basic education. 1,300 children and teenagers have been benefited by receiving tablets and 18,000 have received eyeglasses.

As such, the state governor emphasized the coordination between agencies such as the Secretariat of Wellbeing, the Secretariat of Education, the System for the Comprehensive Development of Families, and the Institute of Youth, that are working together to make sure that children and teenagers are completely focused on studying.

Regarding the Comunder program, the governor highlighted that she has the willingness to make sure that students that live in remote areas have access to proper and free mobility, which is why roads at the Valle de las Palmas route and Valle de Mexicali towns have been expanded.

“With the Tarjeta Transporte con el Corazón (Transport Card with Heart), 3,000 young students of Mexicali receive economic aid that allows them to go to schools in public transport,” she said.

Marina del Pilar highlighted that these programs have had an investment of more than 1,4 billion pesos, resources that are allocated to guarantee a better future for the state. This is why she reaffirmed her commitment with keeping education development as a fundamental pillar to promote the wellbeing of all families.
