After a Christmas with no traffic, “traffic hell” returns to the San Ysidro port of entry

This was reported by internet users

After an apparent “Christmas miracle” on Saturday, December 24 at the San Ysidro port of entry where waiting times were minimal, this Monday, December 26, traffic chaos has returned worse than ever, as internet users have reported long lines in order to get into the United States from Tijuana.

On several Facebook groups whose goal is to report on the current state of the border crossings, users shared that as the day has passed, lines at the San Ysidro port of entry and waiting times have only been increasing.

Several reports by these groups claim that the line has been starting at the level of Plaza Península and some people have even started it at Central Camionera, a long distance to traverse to get to the port of entry.

In addition, the pedestrian line is currently made out of three lines that are circling around the permitted area where one can wait to cross. Currently, this port of entry has 30 open gates, 150 cars on the All Cars lane, 350 cars on Ready Lane, 100 vehicles on the Sentri lane, and 800 people at the pedestrian crossing.
