Marina del Pilar highlights participation of Baja California at Paranationals 2022

The governor of Baja California highlighted the bravery and commitment of participants at the CONADE Paranational Games 2022 Edition

Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, governor of Baja California, praised the results obtained by Baja Californian athletes at the CONADE Paranational Games 2022, where they won 60 medals only a few days before the competition, taking place in Hermosilla, Sonora, ends.

The state governor highlighted athletes’ commitment as they have lifted up Baja California’s name, alongside the permanent companionship of their families, trainers, and coaches, who have helped them to achieve their goals.

For her part, the General Director of the Institute of Sports and Physical Health of Baja California (INDE BC), Lourdes Cañez Martínez, stated that regarding this number, 30 of the medals are in para swimming (14 gold, 13 silver, and 3 bronze); 4 are in boccia (3 gold and 1 bronze); and 26 in athletics (11 gold, 6 silver, and 9 bronze). In total, the state official explained, there are 26 gold medals, 19 silver, and 15 bronze.

As such, Marina del Pilar emphasized the work by para swimming athlete Marvín Loya who won 5 gold medals, swimmer Julia Garcia who won 3 gold and 2 silver medals, swimmer Fabián Cázares who won 3 gold medals, 1 silver, and 1 bronze, and athletics exponent Abril Meza who won 3 gold medals.

Cañez Martínez stated that Baja California’s participation will conclude with the powerlifting competition which will take place officially on Wednesday, November 23, which means that Baja California’s numbers could improve.
