The book The Four Agreements written by Don Miguel Ruiz (who considers himself Tijuana native) has greatly influenced the career of the most recognized and successful NFL quarterback ever, it has been reported. His “love” story with this book started more than 10 years ago, in 2007, when his wife Gisele Bündchen gave it to him.

In 2015, Brady commented that the book helped him to overcome a scandal that left a mark on his career: when his then team, the New England Patriots, was accused of deflating footballs. In that moment, he claimed that what helped him was to not take things personal and accept things that he hadn’t planned for, something that is mentioned in the book.

In 2013 when Don Miguel Ruiz attended the Oprah Winfrey Show, he was presented as a doctor and spiritual guide. Winfrey said that Ellen DeGeneres told her about his book, The Four Agreements, for the first time in 1999. In her show, Oprah said that the first book she gave “her girls” in a South African primary school she opened was The Four Agreements.
