The World 's 50 Best Restaurants announced the members of this list and two Mexican establishments are among them; to be exact, in ninth and twenty-seventh place. Last month the positions from 51st to 100th were announced, among which 2 other Mexican restaurants qualify in this strict and outstanding list. It is a great honor that Mexican restaurants are considered as part of the best, giving more prestige to Mexican gastronomy.

The restaurant Pujol is ranked as the ninth best in the world, which is located in Mexico City, this restaurant founded in 2000 receives this award for the first time so it is a great honor for the creator of this restaurant, Chef Enrique Olvera.

According to his website "His cuisine is always transforming; it draws ideas from here and there, reinterprets and evolves, but has its roots in the ingredients and Mexican techniques of all times".

Also located in Mexico City, Quintonil is the second restaurant within this top 50, it is currently ranked 27; founded in 2012, it is under the direction of Alejandra Flores and Jorge Vallejo, according to its website it seeks to express the flavors of Mexican ingredients within its menu, but from a more personal look. This restaurant is within the ranking of The World 's 50 Best Restaurants since 2015.
